I love a light-filled room. Black might add drama on a focal wall, but the whole room? Not sure I'd go for that. With that said, I do confess to liking the black bathroom with the antique tub. Maybe a smaller space is the key - it feels elegant and cozy.

Other than design. Safety issues are paramount in the nursery, such as using non toxic paint and materials, structural safety, etc

Great post! We also really appreciated Beautiful Habitat's guidance when it was time for a "Toddler"/Big kid room. Our nursery was done and definately not something we could grow with. For our toddler/big kid rooms we wanted to avoid that rut again and didn't want to go with a theme that would be outgrown in a year/6 months, etc. Both our Daughter and recently Son had rooms done for them that will easily work for many many years with small accessory changes!!

I also love the barn-style doors and their use of the beetle kill pine. It's beautiful and green, what a fabulous combo!
