I believe in giving back to my community. Colorado has many wonderful organizations that are improving lives and our world. I am an active volunteer and donor for:
- 9 Cares Colorado Shares Food Drive
- MaxFund No-Kill Animal Shelter and Adoption Center
- Kiva: Loans that Change Lives
I also enjoy running, so it only makes sense to run for organizations that are making a difference in the world. This year I will be running in 2 events for 3 worthy causes.
American Cancer Society Relay for Life, where our team walks/runs continuously for 14 or more hours to raise money, awareness and hope. Visit our team page: Team Irma. In 2012, Beautiful Habitat became a corporate sponsor of the Relay for Life event in Broomfield, CO.
I will also be running the Colorado Relay, a team relay event from Breckenridge to Snowmass Village. That’s 198 miles through the Colorado Mountains. Our team will raise money for two great causes:
Judi’s House, A Denver-based organization providing hope and healing to grieving children.
Outward Bound, whose mission is “to inspire character development and self-discovery in people of all ages and walks of life through challenge and adventure, and to impel them to achieve more than they ever thought possible, to show compassion for others and to actively engage in creating a better world.”
