The Before Photos

“The whole work triangle was moved to allow for better prep space with the sink and refrigerator closer to one another,” Wood said. She also removed a pantry in order to provide more cabinet storage and prep space.

She specified 15-inch deep wall cabinets instead of the standard 12 inches, creating ample room for extra pantry items or serving dishes. The secondary open shelving cabinets at the front of the island are ideal for accessing everyday items and for additional storage space.

And After!

Wood chose Shaker-style wooden cabinetry with extra bead detail for the rich color and warmth and stainless steel appliances for utility. The white-engineered quartz countertop is durable and low maintenance. Additional design touches that took this small kitchen from simply functional to fashionable are two period-style pendant lights and a dining table fixture with black wrought iron hardware.
